Abstract
Introduction : The alcoholism is not just an individual problem, it’s also a difficult social problem. That’s why the World Health Organization has placed him on the top of their priorities, especially the health education in prevention of alcoholism in young population. Every day, the number of young people, who drink alcohol, increases. Also the amount of alcohol consumed increases, so there are a lot of alcoholic cases and cases of substance dependence. According to the international estimates, the presence of alcohol in relevance to the whole population, ranges between 2-3%. By her presence in the world, the alcoholism is declared as a « third disease » and it’s immediately after the heart and cancer diseases.
The aim of this study is to represent how the abuse of alcohol is reflecting not only to the alcoholic, but also to his family and his close environment. In fact there is no part of human life that isn’t affected by this issue.
Material and methods: We involve special programs and therapy to 15 alcoholics (women and mens) who live in Negotino and Kavadarci (R. Macedonia). In the same town existed Alcoholic Addiction Treatment Club.
Conclusion: The role and importance of Alcoholic Addiction Treatment Club is to help to the alcoholics in the abstinence, preventing relapses, resettlement and rehabilitation for treated alcoholics. The most common diseases of alcoholics are alcoholic psychosis, liver cirrhosis, neurological and digestive disorders, cardiovascular diseases etc.
