Abstract

Changes in society are reflected on schools and teaching as the most dominant part
of an organized educational work. The question is what should be a teacher in
modern times. Teacher is personal concentration of the educational process.
Delicacy and weight of this profession is that mistakes made in this area lead to farreaching
adverse social consequences. The teacher should be a person which in a
special way is preparing himself for that profession.
The profession is characterized by high power and prestige it has in society as a
whole. The term teacher profession stems from the notion that teaching is the
dominant means of organized educational work in schools. The notion of teacher
profession can be put among all occupations whose main activity is the education.
They are the ones whose employees work with children, adolescents or adults,
carrying various forms of educational work.
Instead of believing that knowledge of the profession, talent and natural inclination
(gift) is sufficient for the implementation of teacher work now is insisting on the
systematic development and cultivation of skills for teacher profession. Teachers in
particular are expected to successfully carry out their professional role, which means
to successfully develop and use their expert knowledge throughout the work. The
teacher is one who performs a mediating role in all segments of society because the
personnel coming from him, or will move forward the society with their knowledge
and performance, or to prevent its development. The teacher should have a ambition
and motivation to perform well its obligation to continuous improvement.
