Abstract

Abstract – The paper presents control methods used in series and parallel full-bridge resonant converters in applications where the load has a variable dynamics and it changes its impedance during its power treatment. Examples of such applications include industrial induction metal heating and melting. The methods presented give constant power regulation by adjusting both, the output voltage and the switching frequency. The methods are analyzed and their advantages and drawbacks are given. Practical implementation issues are presented using microcontroller in the feedback loop. The signal waveforms are obtained using simulation program MATLAB-Simulink.
