Abstract

Improvement of quality management in tobacco industry should be a continuous process if we want to keep up with the latest trends in the world.
A starting point in improvement of QM is to introduce the international quality standards ISO-9000.
This will help to maintain the current state and to follow the technological development, technical innovations and changes in the market. In addition, international standards specific to this branch (tobacco and tobacco products) must be also considered.
Consumers demands can be met only if the quality is preserved and this can not be achieved if international standards are not applied.
It is important to know that quality encompasses all the characteristics related to its capability to accomplish all requirements of the processes, procedures in tobacco production.
