Abstract
Natural and anthropogenic resources specific to a certain area serve or can serve as a basis for creating a
program for tourists' stay. Special emphasis should be placed on the natural-geographic characteristics of a specific
location where tourists stay, agricultural production, folk crafts, old crafts and tools, folklore, naive painting, local
architecture, cultural-historical heritage, multi-ethnicity, etc. They represent part of the specifics that are insisted
upon when creating a tourist product of rural tourist destinations. However, a decisive factor in the establishment
and sustainable development of a rural tourist destination is the local population. Emphasis is placed on their ability
to provide an adequate level of quality of tourist and other types of services. Only with the presence of people who
are trained to provide an adequate level of quality services, we can talk about rural tourist destinations. The
exclusive existence of natural, anthropogenic, communication resources is a necessary but not a sufficient condition.
People (staff) represent management support in the development of a rural destination.
