Abstract

Gastronomic tourism encompasses a wide range of food-related activities and represents an important segment of the overall tourist experience or as a motivation for travel. It includes various activities such as: consumption of specific and traditional cuisine, culinary competitions, events related to food and drink, local markets, food producers, involvement of tourists in observing or preparing dishes, culinary schools, gastronomic trails, restaurants dedicated to the local population and tourists, gastronomic animation, etc. The subject of this paper is gastronomic tourism seen through the prism of pastrmajlija. For the purpose of the paper, research methodology and secondary sources of data were used by consulting relevant literature related to gastronomic tourism as well as the Internet. An analysis and tabelar review of the Shtip pastrmajlija, as well as the pastrmajlija prepared in other cities in the country, has been made. Based on a systematic evaluation of the content and activities, the manifestations related to pastrmajlija in the country were analyzed.
