Abstract

An added value of the project consisted in the adoption of a best practice – the “Model European Parliament”
simulation (MEP) – in the context of a candidate country. Following a cycle of territorial interactive workshops, the “Model EU” project gathered students and youth,
teachers, educators, media workers from different geographic areas of a candidate country - the Republic of
North Macedonia - which is extraordinary rich of cultural diversity. Participants developed the ownership
towards the European Union by democratically debating and playing advocacy on key human rights’ topics
during a simulation of an enlarged session of the European Parliament.
