Abstract
Inclusive education is a key segment in the contemporary educational systems, whose aim is
to obtain equal possibilities for all students regardless of their abilities or disabilities. In the Republic of North
Macedonia, as in many other countries, the dynamics toward an inclusive education has intensified in the past
few years. Among the students there are always those that struggle with the school obligations, those that fulfil
the obligations with ease and those that stubbornly oppose their obligations. Before the work with talented
students is started, they need to be recognized. The early identification of talented students is of essential
importance so that an appropriate support and enrichment possibilities are obtained. This paper is derived from
larger research (a BA paper), where first is the explanation of the concept of ‘talent’ and then the explanation of
the work with talented students in an inclusive classroom. In order to see what type of challenges the
Macedonian teachers face in relation to work with talented students in Elementary schools, we conducted our
research. The research was conducted in September 2023. It included 51 elementary school teachers from five
schools in Macedonia. The teachers have a need of training for the work with talented students
