Abstract

This presentation explores the crucial role of decent work and youth engagement in achieving sustainable development, focusing on the Republic of North Macedonia. Beginning with an Introduction & Context section, it provides an overview of the subject, emphasizing the significance of decent work and its potential to empower young people to contribute to a better future.

The historical and global context of decent work and youth employment is then examined, shedding light on the evolution of these concepts and their contemporary relevance. The legal framework surrounding decent work in North Macedonia is explored, providing insights into the nation's commitment to ensuring favorable employment opportunities for all.

The unique challenges faced by youth in the labor market are addressed within the Macedonian context, offering a realistic portrayal of the obstacles encountered by young workers in the Republic of North Macedonia. The presentation also discusses various policies and actions implemented at the national level to promote and enhance employment opportunities for the youth, crucial for understanding efforts to address these issues.

In the concluding segment, key findings and implications drawn from the presentation are synthesized, offering a holistic perspective and providing directions for future considerations and actions. By the end of the lecture, the audience is expected to have gained a better understanding of the concept of "decent work" and the challenges and opportunities it presents, particularly for young people in the Republic of North Macedonia.
