Abstract

Aim: 3D Computed tomography is a recording technique that allows the dentist to make an assessment with great accuracy of the surrounding bone structures, to determine the position of the nerves and other vital anatomical structures. This way of recording allows the oral surgeon to see the complete bone structure, all with one goal, prevention of complications during the performance of operative interventions.
Material and Method: For the realization of our work, we made recordings with 3D CBCT from Vatech, with
the Green X device with an exposure time of 4.9 seconds, unlike classic devices where the recording time is 24 seconds. The analysis of the recordings was done with Vatech Ez 3D-i software.
Results: The results of our investigation showed that all the structures that are of interest in performing the oral surgical intervention can be determined with great accuracy, and the density of the bone structures at the place where the implantology procedure will be performed can also be determined.
Conclusions: 3D Computed tomography of the jaw ridges represents a procedure that is mandatory when
performing the placement of dental implants and a recommended procedure when performing certain oral surgical interventions.
