Abstract

Very often the lipophilic redox proteins can enter in dimerization reaction, if free radical are formed upon the redox transformation at working electrode. If the kinetic of dimerization step is very fast, and if all species stay firmly adsorbed at the working electrode, then a model of electrochemically induced irreversible dimerization can be solved to get insight into this important mechanism. In this MATHCAD simulation protocol, entire simulation file is given that enables simulation of cyclic voltammogram of this electrode mechanism. The model is applicable to all surface redox system that exhibit irreversible dimerization upon the first step of their redox transformation at an electronic conductor.
