Abstract

Respiratory dysfunction in patients with Covid-19 is associated with changes in the mechanics of respiration in patients. Decreased mobility of the diaphragm and chest, decreased contractile ability of the respiratory muscles, and decreased motor activity of the patient may occur. This leads to impaired pulmonary ventilation and gas exchange. That is why with respiratory gymnastics, improvement of each of the listed conditions can be achieved. Breathing exercises can overcome respiratory problems in the elderly population, but also protect patients from possible complications of Covid-19. Respiratory gymnastics is an important link in a Covid-19 pandemic that needs to be addressed. This type of exercise can be tailored to different groups of the adult population depending on their comorbidities.
