Abstract
The Refugee crisis in 2015 known also as the solidarity crisis of the EU, that followed the massive influx of migrants and refugees coming to Europe, deeply impacted upon
the European Union, creating almost a collapse in EU’s asylum and migration system, and leaving great division among EU Member states. It was under these circumstances
that the structural problems of the Common European Asylum System were brought to the surface, highlighting both its shortcomings, and questioning solidarity and distribution of responsibility among EU Member States, but moreover, creating new borderlands in the neighborhood, in particular in the Western Balkans. This contribution examines the new bordering practices of the EU and Member states in North Macedonia in matter of asylum and migration.
