Abstract

Electrochemical behavior of Te(VI) is studied both by applying square-wave and cyclic voltammetry. Major goal was to develop a voltammetric method for quantitative determination of of Te(VI) from aqueous solutions. The methodology considers reduction of Te(VI) to Te(0) at potential of -1.8 V at mercury working electrode. Afterwards, the accumulated Te(0) in form of amalgam is stripped off by suitable scanning of applied the potential. A very low detection limit of Te(VI) in order of 10 nM is reported, while the possible interferences of other metal cations are studied.
