Abstract

A Cathodic-stripping square-wave voltammetric method for quantification of Vanadium (V) is developed. In 0.1 mol/L ammonia buffer with pH of 8.60, Vanadium (V) is involved in two electrode processes: the first one corresponds to the reduction of Vanadium(V) to Vanadium(IV) taking place at about -0.55 V (at mercury working electrode), while the second electrode transformation occurs at about -1.3 V and it is due to redox transformation of V(IV) to V(II). By exploring optimal experimental conditions, upon accumulation time of 180 s, we developed a sensitive SWV method to quantify V(V) in concentrations ranges of 10 nmol/L.
