Abstract

In this paper we identifies the term pedagogy of youth sports, as well as the most commonly used methods such as: method of persuation, method of encoragement, method of adjusment, training and creating habits, method od prevention and inhibition. Also, we explain the pedagogical approaches in youth sports (application in practice, why do we use them, goal..).
What pedagogies work best in youth sport setting?is the key question, from which we start in our survey. Also we put other several question as: If you use rewards, what are they? If you use punishments, what are they? List 3 – 5 characteristics of the coach that are most needed and required when working with children and young athlete, on the sample of 35 coaches in 15 different sports. For the purposes of the survey, we designed 10 questions, 2Q general – sport and age group of children that are working with, 4Q– Likert type scale for most frequently applied approaches, 3Q open type.
In the paper, also we present the results from the survey and the key conclusions likе: gradation in applied pedagogies in youth sport; Method of persuasion →Prevention and inhibition; Need for individualized approach; Good youth coach= competences + personal qualities
