Abstract

Tourism at the end of the previous century has become part of the world’s largest economy, and ecotourism one of the fastest growing sectors. Ecotourism is based on the controlled use of natural and cultural elements of the environment.
This trend, known as ecotourism, promotes socially responsible travel and environmental sustainability. Aims to provide a better understanding of the interrelation ship between tourism and the environmental and to contribute to achieving a symbiotic relationship.
The purpose of this paper is to show what the resource potential of the southeast region, specifically Gevgelija region for the development of ecotourism. Exploiting the tourism potential of Gevgelija can promote itself as an interesting tourist destination where mountain Kozuf, and the natural beauty of Sermenin, Konsko, Huma and other interesting places can be visited. Based on the findings of the research are given the represented and potential forms of tourism operations in the region.
