Abstract
This paper elaborates the problems connected with establishment of a safety distance paying a
particular attention to unfavorable effects occurring during blasting. One of these
unfavorable effects refers to seismic activity caused by blasting operations. Accordingly,
the adequate instrumental measurements were carried out at the facility „Sušica“ - Čačak
mine with the aim to protect the surrounding building facilities when establishing the safety
distance and the maximum quantity of explosive that may be initiated without damaging the
surrounding building facilities.
