Abstract

By igniting the coal seam and injecting the injection gas, the underground coal gasification causes coal to undergo thermo chemical reactions in situ and thus to be gasified into Syngas for power generation, production of hydrogen and storage. Underground coal gasification is very complex physical and chemical process, and many factors affect the composition and quality of syngas. Considering high temperature humidity and closed environment, it is difficult to effectively monitor and control the UCG process to improve the quality of the Syngas. This paper will explain the physical and chemical processes that take place during
Underground coal gasification.
