Abstract

The traditional house was a constructive system that used local materials such as stone, earth
and wood, as well as their finishing. Ground floor and first floor dwellings are usually built with a solid stone
wall on the ground floor and a floor-mounted floor system, as the most commonly practiced combination of the
two construction systems. The application of the stone was from the foundations, through the load-bearing walls
of the massive building system, to the covering with stone slabs. The earth was used in various forms of
finishing, for the floors, as a binder for the stone walls, for covering the partition walls of the net, etc. The wood,
in addition to the constructive bondruc system, is used for making doors, windows, household items and other
decorative elements of the house. The most important elements in the traditional building are the ecological
approach in the selection and use of basic materials from the environment, their colorful harmony with the
natural environment and the construction of the building was adapted to the needs and possibilities of the
location, family and urban space.
