Abstract
The contemporary hand bombs belong to the group of defensive bombs with timed action. They are used for close fights, for fights in trenches, in inhabited areas, forest, for destoying of bunkers etc. They are designed to explode in water, snow, mud. These bombs can destroy living force with their blast and by the action of scattered steel balls. The purpose of this paper is to turn the attention to the possibility of reducing the killing action of the balls i.e. to the possibility of desingning of hand bomb, which will meet the requirements to be offensive as well as defensive by so called controlled scatering (small random form steel gains in plastc matrix).
