Abstract

Dissolution of some organic and inorganic salts in water commonly leads to phenomena of chemical reactivity of dissociated ions with the water molecules. Such reactions can lead to creation of excess of hydronium or hydroxide ions, in respect to the pure water equilibrium. Consequently, some salts, when dissolved in water, will cause changing of pH, depending on the nature of the salts. We give here elaboration of processes of hydrolysis, while we also get insight into application of voltammetry to follow reactions of hydrolysis at nano-particles modified electrodes. Hydrolysis is of outmost importance to understand reactivity of many drugs and physiologically active compounds. Thermodynamic consideration of hydrolysis reactions is also a part of this lecture, which is written on Macedonian language.
