Abstract

Global development imposes significant momentum on daily living and working conditions, and thus the need for a healthy environment becomes an essential issue for every individual, institution, state. Promoting cycling and hiking has huge benefits for individuals and for society. First of all, there are the health benefits, which reduce traffic congestion and make the environment more humane. Encouraging more people to ride bicycles is a great way to create a healthy and attractive environment for people and businesses.
Cycling tourism can be treated about traveling specifically between places, or cycling for recreational purposes. Cycling is an integral part of the tourist offer. In essence, cycling tourism is a combination of different types of cycling (recreational cycling, mountain biking, sports or various cycling events, etc.). In this group of riders are all those tourists, domestic or foreign, who are fully committed to the natural beauties, cultural attractions or ethnological features (ethno villages with locally prepared dishes or specific local regulations that encourage the attraction of visitors).
Through cycling tourism, the trips themselves allow cyclists to discover important sights and enjoy the natural landscape with a few days' stay. Cyclists tend to choose vibrant and side roads, but also avoid high-frequency traffic. Cyclists had the opportunity to settle in different locations, carry equipment, food that would allow them to stay longer.
This paper focuses on the promotion of cycling for recreational purposes and, above all, for tourist travel, as an important factor in stimulating the healthy lifestyle of the population.
