Abstract
In this article we refer to a theme in literature for youth - the theme of the infirm, children with disabilities, children with severe or incurable diseases. This subject in children's and youth literature has long been avoided, and is still approached with a great deal of caution or fear. As a result, there is very little work on this subject, and where present, the authors approach it in a way that does not reflect the real situation. The subject of our research will be Macedonian literature for children and youth, and we will briefly try to present the current situation. We will try to explore ways in which children's writers are using this literature to bring young readers closer to enable successful inclusion of children in society.
