Abstract

Today more and more scientific articles and research are focused on
the teaching process, the detection of its weaknesses and their timely removal
in order to improve it. In this paper we will try to speak about some of those
weaknesses related to foreign language teaching in secondary education, and,
with the help of the surveyed 120 pupils, we will try to obtain relevant data about
the category of idioms in foreign language teaching. The paper aims to show the
opinions, attitudes and suggestions of students who answered our questionnaire
with 20 questions related to this issue. The analysis of the responses received
from students’ questionnaires offers us interesting data about their doubts,
expectations, experiences and attitudes concerning the use of phraseology in
foreign language teaching.
