Abstract
This paper presents a comparison of the determination of particle size distribution of samples
taken from Pb-Zn flotation using two different methods: sieve analysis and automatic method. The sieve
analysis was performed with the Tayler series of sieves, and for automatic method was used the SALD-
3101 laser diffraction particle size analyzer from Shimadzu.
Deviation was concluded in the of particle size distribution obtained by sieve analysis and laser
granulometer, due to different techniques for grain size determination. The trend of curves moving
according to both methods is the same and it can be concluded that both methods can be used
successfully.
