Abstract
This paper presents the results of the chemical composition of the tool used in the exploitation of marble in the vicinity of Prilep (Belovodica) during the period of the Roman Empire obtained by applying the method of electronic microanalysis (SEM-EDS). From the results obtained it can be concluded that it is a tool made of iron, which in its composition has a large amount of carbon, i.e. it is cast iron that was not subjected to further processing to reduce the amount of carbon and improve the properties of the iron.
