Abstract

Neo-institutionalism and the new institutional economy (NIE) existed as an alternative to the new classical and new Keynesian economy that accepted their claims and theories. In this paper historical and theoretical methods are used. The research topic includes institutions, organizations and institutional structure, ie the theory of institutional changes will be discussed. Namely, the aim of this paper is to make an overview of the synthesis of the new institutional economy with an emphasis on the key views of Douglas North.
