Abstract
Tower houses were most frequently built in mountains settlements, where the stone was available locally. The walls of the houses were solid, fortified features were indicative of insecure times and areas. The type of dwelling was popular among Turkish feudal lords, who build them on their estates. The style was termed kulishte, kuluch, kulinja , etc.
