Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to share the evaluation and assessment
experience in teaching Italian literature within the Bachelor’s degree programme of
Italian language and literature at Goce Delčev University in Štip. Structured as semester
courses, the Italian Literature Programme offers a chronological overview of Italian
literature from the 13th to the 20th century. Italian literature instruction consists of
theoretical lectures and exercises, including various other interactive and multimedia
activities. The methods of student assessment have undergone several changes since the
introduction of the course. The first part of the paper offers an overview of the diverse
competencies that the students acquire by following this course. The paper, furthermore,
presents various assessment methods that have been used so far, including activities that
encourage the use of new technologies, along with the different testing tools such as
written and oral tests and the results obtained by using each method.
