Abstract

Noise is increasingly recognized as a physical factor in working environment with serious
consequences for workers` health. Numerous globally researches and studies indicate that exposure to
high noise levels at older workers is a serious risk factor for hearing loss, ie 7% to 21% (an average of
16%) of hearing loss is a result of exposure to high noise level at the workplace (Nelson et al., 2005).
Taking this into account, regular monitoring and proper selection of noise level measurement
equipment and strategy on workplace is of particular importance.
The paper presents noise level measurement results at main noise sources in mining and cement
industry, as well as, personal noise exposure of workers nearby these sources.
