Abstract
The Cretaceous sediments in the Vardar zone of the territory of the Republic of Macedonia are represented mainly in the Western Vardar subzone. In the Central Vardar subzone and in the Eastern Vardar subzone, Cretaceous sediments are presented in small isolated blocks. These sediments are represented by various lithological units, belonging to two lithostratigraphic series: Albian-Cenomanian-Turonian serie and Senonian serie. The Albian-Cenomanian-Turonian serie is
represented by: lithozone of basic conglomerates and sandstones with clays and stones; flysheid lithozone and lithozone on plates and massive limestones. The Senonian serie is represented by: lithozone of conglomerates and sandstones, flysh lithozone and lithozone of fruiting and bank limestones.
This paper presents the lithostratigraphy of the Cretaceous sediments, which have wide application in the economy of the Republic of Macedonia.
