Abstract

Pressure ulcerit is a major health problem. It is a factor for morbidity, mortality and burden of health care in the wider world. The patient despite his primary disease, with Pressure ulceracquired a secondary disease, which not only disturbs the healing process of the primary disease, but leads to further physical and psychological burden. Because much of pressure ulcers can be avoid, attempts to reduce their prevalence are concentrating more on
prevention than on treatment. In order to prevent pressure ulcer, are created programs and protocols from different international organizations. Additionally, in some countries there are national initiatives to reduce the incidence of pressure ulcer. The incidence of pressure ulcer considered as an indicator of quality of care carried out a health facility or a health and performance of implemented protocols to reduce it.
