Abstract

In the methodology of foreign language teaching, there is no doubt regarding the essential role that the input plays in the process of adopting a foreign language. There is a consent among researchers that a student would not be able to adopt a foreign language without being exposed to input. This paper makes a distinction between the terms input and intake. For this purpose, it chronologically presents the use and the definition of these terms by selecting the most important definitions.
