Abstract
Educators that work in primary school have a task to preserve the link between the folklore and music education. Textbooks can help in advancing the knowledge of folklore as a part of one's national identity. The analysis of textbooks in the field of music, in primary education, shows a negligible number of examples with a presence of the national song. The aim of this paper is to point out that it is necessary and very important to use folk songs in teaching.
