Abstract

In the medieval period the Castel by the Pcinja was a fortification that served to control the nearbly road. It had a characteristic shape that consisted of construction elements typical for the medieval buildings, but on the smaller scale. The fortification complex includes defensive towers, ramparts and various commercial facilities. The topic of the paper are the architectural and the structural characteristics of the preserved situation on site and an analysis of the functional concept of the fortification.
