Abstract
Conflict is part of the reality in all organizations, regardless of their size
or field of activity. It occurs as a consequence of human interaction within the
organizational processes and it can significantly affect the way it works and the
results obtained. Organizational conflict is a dispute which happens when the
interests, goals and values of different individuals or groups are notcompatible
with each other. This results in a situation where they frustrate each other in an
attempt to achieve their goals.
If the conflict is not managed properly it can have side effects such as hostility,
violence, destruction of human relationships, and even the disintegration of the
company. When conflict is controlled, it can lead to positive characteristics,
such as creativity, innovation, changing or improving relations between
people. In organization where there is no conflict, there is apathy, stagnation
and inability to adapt to change.
