Abstract
The paper presents data obtained from the mineralogic-petrographic examinations of the rocks on the vicinity of the Tikves water reservoir near Kavadarci. Investigations carried out on the metamorphic complex of the Vardar zone determined that the complex consists of sericite-quartzite schists, quartzite and quartz schists, amphibole quartz schists, cherts and interbeds of marbles and marbelized limestones hosted in various parts of the scaly complex. Detailed examination by X-ray diffraction discovered the following mineral assemblage: albite, sericite, quartz, amphibole, phyllosilicates, chlorite etc.
