Abstract
Language is a means necessary for world’s integrating of everyone. It could get transformed, conveyed and developed as a result of the interpersonal and societal relations. Those interactions have a direct impact towards the actual linguistic repertoire. Being a subject of transformations, the language bears the influence of the young population which “contaminates” it and adjusts to the necessity of the group creating a version that is fairly expressive and fi gurative. The language of the young population exists but without leaving deep traces. It comes around and goes around. The subject of this paper is to examine the basic characteristics of the young population’s jargon in Italy especially emphasizing the jargon of the young population as a societal variant; the cause for its appearance; the features of the young population’s jargon and the mechanisms for forming the lexica.
