Relationship between blood group of ABO blood system and coronary arterial disease

Abstract

Aims: To determine the relationship of same of the blood groups of ABO blood group system as a risk factor for appearance of the coronary arterial disease.
Methods:In the last two years, belonging of ABO blood system was researched and followed in 752 patients with coronary arterial disease above the age of 35, hospitalized in W.U.Internal diseases in Stip, trough determination of ABO blood groups. The blood group was followed in a control group of 752 healthy people from the inhabitans of the municipality of Stip above the age of 35, to be selected by chance in the past two years. The testing of the blood groups of the already controlled and researched group was done in the W.U Transfusiology in Stip with microaglutationem cards by the company Dia Med-ID Micro Typing Systems.
Results: In the alreadly controlled group, 295 (39,22%) people were the presence of A blood group, 106 (14,09%)were with B blood group, 75 (9,97%) with AB blood group and 276 (36, 70%) were with O blood group. The presence of coronary arterial disease was: 381 (50,66%) with A blood group, 105 (13,96%) were with B blood group,47 (6,25%) were with AB blood group and 219 (29,12%) with O blood group.
Conclusion; After the complete research of the study, the obtained results showed that there is a relationship between A blood group of ABO blood system as a risk factor for the appearence of coronary arterial disease.
