Abstract
In order to investigate the application of ICT in teaching in secondary schools in Macedonia, we conducted a research in the last quarter of 2013. The research was conducted in four secondary schools in the Republic of Macedonia. The application of ICT was seen through the survey of 109 teachers who are engaged in these schools. A survey questionnaire was used for the purposes of the research, and the obtained results were analyzed and presented using the frequency (f), percentage (%) and F test. The research consisted of 3 parts. As for the teachers' readiness for using ICT in teaching, we noticed that teachers rated their own knowledge of computer skills with a high proportion, and more than half of them attended training courses for using ICT in teaching. The second part reports that younger teachers, unlike older ones, more often apply computers and projectors in their daily teaching. As for the ICT software, we have noticed that the teachers at the age of 20 - 30 more often use the following applications: Office applications (word, excel), software for communication (e-mail, chat), electronic materials (encyclopedias, dictionaries), unlike the teachers at the age of 51-60. The third part of the study examined teachers' opinions and views about the application of ICT in teaching and it has been noticed that most of the surveyed teachers generally evaluate well (68%) the quality of ICT in their classroom. A large percentage of teachers think that the use of ICT in teaching can increase and has already increased their own creativity, and the creativity of their students.
