Abstract
On account of little interest for investment in SHPPs, especially for locations with small IRR, proposed methodology changes were made. This paper provides a complete overview of the new proposed preferential tariff structure in the Republic of Macedonia, for purchasing electricity produced from Small Hydro Power Plants. The basic goal was increasing the attractiveness as of locations as well as impacting household tariff prices in order for them to be insignificant. The new proposed methodology for tariff structure will have very little influence on the overall price of electricity for tariff consumers but at the same time will attract investors in less attractive locations for the construction of Small Hydro Power Plants since feed in tariffs for less attractive locations will be increased on account of larger and more attractive locations. The analysis is expanded with correction coefficients due to variable flow leading to the improvement of the potential of less attractive locations for the construction of small hydro power plants.
