Abstract
Objective: Approxim at ely three million early neonatal deathsocc ur annually world wide, mostly in low-income countries.The most frequent causes are: infections, prematurity andassociated conditions, congenital anomalies, birth asphyxiaan d very low birthweight due to intrauterine growth retar-dat ion or prematur it y. Ma ny score systems for predictionof neonatal morbidity and mortality use intracranial hem-orrhage as indicat or because of its high predict ing value.Aim s of this study are: to presen t a simple system for pre-diction of early neonatal death due to intracranial hemor-rhage applicable in general hospital; to carry outinformation which could be base for further programs forim provement of newborn healt h on lo cal seco ndary level.
