Abstract

Noise is one of the most distinguished physical hazards present during performing mining operations. Heavy mining machinery and mining equipment for crushing mineral resources presents main noise sources in mining.
Given the constitutionally guaranteed right to safety and health of workers, the employer is obliged to regularly testing and measurement of physical hazards in the workplace.
This paper present the basic noise measurement strategies on workplace and determination of personal noise exposure in accordance with international standard MKS EN ISO 9612: 2010 Acoustics - Determination of occupational noise exposure - Engineering method as well as guidelines for selecting the proper noise measurement strategy.
