Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to present the
way of managing with the Law of Free Access to
Public Information in the Republic of Macedonia.
This paper supports the fact that it is not possible
transparency and accountability of state institutions if
this area is not regulated by law. The focus of
research is on the Law on Free Access to Public
Information, seven years of its implementation.
The results of the survey confirm the initial
hypothesis that the relevant constitutional and legal
norms are the foundation of free access to public
information. The results point to the general
conclusion that the situation in the country is
generally good. However, it was determined the need
for greater and stronger actualization affirmation of
the right of citizens for free access to public
information.
