Abstract
Аpplication of statistical methods takes more important role in the management of companies nowadays. Some of the methods of statistical quality control are increasingly intruded into companies to help manage quality. If they are used with understanding, the correct business decisions are made, which means savings by reducing costs and increasing productivity.
The goal of statistical process control is to confirm that a particular process (manufacturing, service..) is as stable as possible, and the variability in the process is smaller, therefore the influence of external and internal factors is under control. Statistical quality control, using their own tools, especially control charts can greatly contribute achieving the requirements of the standards.
Control charts are very powerful tool in the area of statistical control process and they are very popular in the industry, due to their characteristics. The main objective of the control chart is to improve manufacturing processes by revealing the variability which is related to certain (specific) reasons. Once the the underlying cause of variation is determinated, managers take action to fix the process.
Managers who manage processes with the use of control charts replace intuitive decision-making with decision-making based on science and proven through experience with processing and analysis of statistical data.
