Abstract

Strumica and Strumica region contains a number of monuments, buildings as part of the historical core, landscape areas in urban and rural areas, which have preserved their autenticity. The historical heritage is the result of the large number of cultural activities in the area of Strumica, which took place over the centuries of its existence. The residential architecture of this period have similar structural and aesthetic features as other cities in Macedonia in this period. Then there were created a specific structure that is adapted to the climate, dominated by warm summers with high temperatures, or create an insulation of vital residential premises.Based on these initial findings, we can conclude that the territory of Strumica and Strumica region, there are a number of buildings that need to be noticed for their original form, derived from the daily needs of the population. This category of residential architecture of the urban and rural environment is an important part of the architectural heritage of this region, which confirms the need for its protection from further extinction.
