Abstract

This lecture contains introductory aspects of Radiobiology in terms of effects of ionizing radiations on living systems: biological effects of ionizing radiation,
molecular and cellular radiobiology, radiation lesions in DNA and mechanisms of repair, cell damage and repair and overview of stochastic and deterministic effects that are relevant to clinical outcomes after radiation exposure.
