Abstract

Opportunities for tourism development are largely conditioned by the quality of the environment, preserved and attractive natural and cultural heritage and other values, goods and resources. For sustainable it is considered any kind of tourism that contributes permanently for the protection and promotion of the environment, natural and other resources, cultural values and integrity of the local community.
The concept of sustainable development of tourist destinations promotes: the quality of living and quality of the environment, wise and rational use of general and individual resources, social equity in the distribution of resources and goods, a choice of current and future generations opportunities, as well as balanced territorial development.
When choosing where to spend vacation, tourists usually have in mind few possibilities. The image of the destination has a great influence on their decision. Each company has its own reputation, and every tourist destination wants to make an image after which it would be recognizable on the world tourist market. Everyone has its own opinion about the tourist destination, even though he has never visited it. The goal is to hold a good reputation of the tourist destination so that people have a positive opinion about it. A lasting result for creating a famous tourist destination and re-assurance of potential visitors is to make a brand. A key factor in influencing consumer brand is positioning of the tourist destination and its sustainability in the long term.
