Abstract

The objective of this research is to monitor and control the size of the population of tomato leaf miner Tuta absoluta (Meyrick, 1917) in the Strumica region. Tests were carried out on production plot on acreage of 0,1, in the area of the village Boriovo over two harvests, spring and summer. Pest monitoring was performed using yellow sticky traps that were set against reflector measuring 50 W bulb which lit the plate, where the miner T.absoluta following
the light was trapped. Control of the number of population of the pest was carried out with pheromone traps Type - 500, that attract males. Both methods proved to be quite effective for monitoring and control of the number of the
pest population.
